Queridos amigos que seguís nuestras andanzas a través de esta newsletter.

De entrada, deseamos que entre todos sepamos superar los retos que este año 2023 nos ponga. La música será seguro nuestra aliada, y por eso estamos dispuestos a traer a la red algunos de nuestros clásicos favoritos, y proponerlos de la mejor manera a quienes consumen contenidos digitales, independientemente de su edad.

Con esa idea hemos hecho planes para 2023 apostando por la creación de contenidos digitales con la mejor música para oídos curiosos de cualquier edad. Tenemos un catálogo de obras que pueden inspirar contenidos en formatos digitales actualizados, y también tenemos historias nuevas que contar con nuestras ediciones digitales. Nuestra web, www.mirlomusic.net, está empezando ya a recoger nuestras nuevas propuestas editoriales.

Nuevos caminos digitales

Con todo lo aprendido en estos dos últimos años sobre al evolución de Internet, creemos que es un buen momento para empezar a explorar nuevas posibilidades editoriales:

Venta directa de nuestros contenidos en nuestra propia página web.
Contenidos editoriales en diferentes formatos digitales, de acuerdo con la manera en que pueden ser disfrutados: Audiolibros para aquellos que prefieren escuchar, eBooks para nuestros amigos lectores, y coleccionables digitales para quienes quieren coleccionar y aprender jugando.

Nuevos Títulos a la vista

Los que están en marcha.

Estamos preparando, de momento, ediciones que teníamos ya en marcha, como Audiolibros y Coleccionables de El Príncipe Feliz de Oscar Wilde y de Cancionero de Mirlo. Éste último es el título que precede a la colección Cuéntame una Ópera.

Por otra parte, Manuel ha estado trabajando en una nueva composición para el proyecto de Las Estaciones con la artista Grace Hye, y seguro que este proyecto marca nuestro año de manera muy especial. Para seguir los detalles del proceso creativo de esta obra, os invitamos a entrar en el servidor de Discord de Grace.

Otros proyectos que andamos ideando… y que nos gustaría desarrollar contigo.

2023 va a ser un año de conmemoraciones que nos tocan de cerca.

Para celebrar este año Sorolla, y en nuestro catálogo contamos con una invitación especial a darnos “Un paseo con Sorolla”… Manuel está pensando ya en ambientarlo con música de Albéniz, coetáneo del pintor.
Otras dos celebraciones de la pintura española nos resultan muy inspiradoras. Con Sevilla queremos celebrar los 450 años de la entrada de Velázquez en la corte como pintor del rey. También 2023 es año Picasso, y recordamos que siglos más tarde Picasso le rindió homenaje con su particular versión de Las Meninas. Así que, se nos ocurre... ¿por qué no aportar nuestras propias variaciones sobre el tema? Sobre esto esperamos recibir opiniones y comentarios, en nuestro chat aquí mismo o en nuestro servidor de Discord.
Finalmente, Georgina me recuerda que 2023 es 150 aniversario del nacimiento de Sergeï Rachmaninov, un compositor que afrontó el gran reto del exilio. Su vida nos lleva a la reflexión, y su música es consuelo y fuerza ante la adversidad.

Para dar forma a contenidos digitales para celebrar a estos artistas, esperamos contar con nuestros amigos.

Es difícil definir unas fechas con exactitud para alcanzar nuestras metas. especialmente porque somos un equipo muy pequeño, cada uno tenemos otras actividades añadidas, y el año se presenta incierto.

First of all, we wish that together we know how to overcome the challenges that this year 2023 puts us. Music will be our ally for sure, and that is why we are willing to bring some of our favorite classics to the web and present them in the best way to those who come for digital content, regardless of their age.

Therefore, our plans for 2023 are aiming to the creation of digital contents with our music for curious ears of any age. We have a catalogue of works to bring us inspiration in order to explore new digital formats, and we are already working in new projects. Our website, www.mirlomusic.net, is beginning to show our new editorial developments.

New Digital Ways

With everything learned in the last two years about the evolution of the Internet, we believe that it is a good time to start exploring new editorial possibilities:

Direct sale of our content on our own website (still in progress, but coming soon)
Different formats for our contents, according to the different ways they can be enjoyed: Audiobooks for those who prefer to listen, eBooks for our reading friends, and digital collectibles for those who want to collect and learn by playing.

All our videos will be stored in the MirloMedia for our subscribers.
You will be able to follow and participate in our creative process in our Discord server, and also in our brand new Substack chat in case you have downloaded the app.

New Titles in sight

At this moment, we keep preparing the editions that we already had underway, such as the Audiobooks and Digital Collectibles (NFTs) of The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde and Cancionero de Mirlo - Mirlo’s Songbook (this little book serves as introduction to the Cuéntame una Ópera collection).

Moreover, Manuel has been working on a new original composition for the project The Seasons with artist Grace Hye, and this title will surely mark our year in a very special way. To follow the details of the creative process of this work, we invite you to enter Grace Hye's Discord server.

Those other titles we are planning... and that we would like to develop with you.

2023 is going to be a year of commemorations that touch us closely.

To celebrate this ‘Sorolla year’, we have in our catalogue a special invitation to have “A walk with Sorolla”, and Manuel is already thinking of setting it with music by Albéniz, a contemporary of the painter.
Two other celebrations of Spanish painting are very inspiring to us: we have, first of all, Seville’s celebration of the 450th anniversary of Velázquez's entry into the Spanish Royal Palace as Court Painter. 2023 is also the 50th anniversary of Picasso’s death, and we remembered that centuries later Picasso paid homage to Velázquez with his particular version of ‘Las Meninas’. So we thought...why not add our own variations on the theme? On this we hope to receive opinions and comments, in our chat right here or on our Discord server.
Finally, Georgina reminds me that 2023 is the 150th anniversary of Sergeï Rachmaninov’s birth, a composer who faced the great challenge of exile. His life leads us to reflection, and his music is comfort and strength in the face of adversity.

To shape all these digital contents and to celebrate these artists, we hope to count on our friends.

It is difficult to set definitive dates to reach all of our milestones, since we are a small team, each one of us has other activities added, and the upcoming months look uncertain.

To the extent of our possibilities, we will try to carry out the projects that we propose here, and we would like to have you by our side.
