About our Research
A couple of weeks ago we started a research into the future of classical music. We already have a few answers, not many, but enough to draw these 3 essential conclusions:
Most share classical music: a few go to live concerts, and almost all of them listen to it everyday. But they seek the complicity of family or good friends. Some indicate that the people willing to accompany them are a minority, and that they do not dare to encourage others for fear of rejection.
The future of classical music is seen as very complicated by the majority because of an aging public and its distance from the next generations’ interest. The need for it to “keep it alive” is also repeated... although there are some very optimistic voices that do not doubt that it will continue without a problem.
Technology is seen as an opportunity, but at the same time there is a clear defense of the live experience. The most mentioned role of technology in classical music is education and dissemination among the youngest.
We are very grateful to those who have answered us. With this we have confirmed some points, but also new questions have arisen. So we have prepared three new questions (2’) to find out about how much people care about classical music. This time we would like you to share it to get as many responses as possible… an again this is a private and anonymous survey.
Mirlo Music Editions
The Happy Prince is a story with many relevant messages for our times, and that invites reflection that can be shared with the family. It is worth taking a moment to listen to this extraordinary story of Oscar Wilde set to the music of Debussy.
It was our launch for the winter quarter (Q1):
audiobook in English and Spanish
eBook
Book+CD
You can already find them in our store.
Right now in the studio we are preparing new materials for the upcoming spring releases, starting with Cancionero de Mirlo, which includes four stories to discover opera with unforgettable characters from Western culture: Orpheus, Ulysses, Orlando and Papageno... and with music of Monteverdi, Vivaldi, Glück and Mozart. We are preparing eBook, AudioBook, and of course Digital Collectibles.
Meanwhile, we will keep expanding our Mirlo Library with works from our archives, and with new videos that Manuel has been recording especially for subscribers. We will tell you more in future newsletters.

We are ending a very intense quarter, and somehow we realize that we need to improve the way we connect with you. For now, remember that you can write to us directly or comment here...
And you can also follow closely and participate in the first steps of our editions through our Discord... These are difficult times for everyone, and more than ever it is important to find spaces to share good moments online too. More than ever the motto that inspires us, Cultivate your inner garden, makes sense.
