Lohengrin, a story by Georgina Mauriño, based on an opera by Richard Wagner.
The young Gottfried, Duke of Brabant, has mysteriously disappeared in the forest. To find out what has happened, King Henry is expected to arrive soon at the Duke's castle. By the river he is already approaching, and in Brabant he is received with great honors...
The story of Lohengrin, based on a medieval legend, places the action in the heart of Europe and bears witness to European values that are worth reflecting on in the light of the present day. From Mirlo Studio news we encourage you to open the debate, and to share it with your friends.
In addition to writing the story, Georgina also did some illustrations, and below you can see some samples to get to know her iconic places and characters: Brabant Castle (which made Ludwig II of Bavaria and Disney dream!), King Henry whose turn it is to judge, the knight in silver armor, who arrives at the castle by the lake in a boat pulled by a swan with a golden chain, the accusers Friedrich Teltramund and Ortrud, the beautiful Elsa, also the horn, the sword and the ring...
When the time comes for the main characters to get married, a wedding march sounds with a choir, which leads the bride and groom to their bedroom... The very famous choir goes as follows:
Enter led by us
into this place where love awaits you.
For here today
your destiny is fulfilled,
for courage and for love.
You, the most beautiful, come in.
You, the bravest, enter.
Peace and silence already to the uproar of the feast.
Along with the overture, this wedding march with chorus are the best known numbers of this opera. Manuel finds especially brilliant the beginning of the Prelude to Act III which precedes the famous march and celebrates the wedding ceremony, so we have included it in the narration....
